Peter, I actually expect that domestic matters will be much higher up on the President's 'to-do' list (considering the collapsing economy and devastated markets)... it is impossible to be a strong nation without economic strength.

But insofar as foreign affairs goes, the strength-draining 'Mess-O-Potamian' misadventure has weakened the U.S. militarily, financially, and in respect and what is called 'soft power' (the ability of the U.S. to persuade others to do what we want around the world).

So, I fully expect America to REGAIN much of it's lost strength over the next decade or so.

(And, it will likely take us that long to get most of it back... because our enemies and our rivals are not standing still, either.)
