In fairness, I HAVE heard my son complain about the military wanting to restrict the use of the Internet -- they don't want them discussing specifics of their missions (for obvious reasons), and when there is a casualty they don't want them sending information back home before the next of kin are notified (again, for obvious reasons) - but he has always closed his complaints with "I can kind of see their point". This has been true since before WWII when they censored mail en route to the USA. Operational security and especially notification of next of kin have always taken priority over any individual right to speech.
