Re: As you should be aware, most of the current netbooks use x86. However, there are some ARM-based ones in the pipe. Including one from Apple.

So your whole argument is not based on existing devices, but rather an expectation for what's to come? Do you have links to the specs of the devices you mention, or did you just "assume" that they would be great and better than anything Atom based?

Re: I find it amusing how you feel you need to defend the honor of Atoms. Or any Intel processor, for that matter.

And I find it amusing that you were willing to put together a whole argument - complete with insults - over something you don't even have the details on. This isn't about me defending Intel; it's about me calling you on claims you made without having all the facts. And you apparently don't like that, which is why you have made things both personal and off-topic at this point.

For what it's worth.

I was sent a Phenom II CPU a couple of days ago that I'll be checking out over the holidays. I'm not a VIP in any sense, so it's hard not to conclude that AMD has a lot of these on hand for vendors to pass out for evaluation.

The part that was sent is a HDZ940XCJ4DGI (a 3ghz part), so I'm guessing that the parts are binning well (otherwise they would have sent me a slower sample).

It's just a regular part, not an engineering sample. It says AMD Phenom II on it.
