Cary, me too. I should post your note on the wall!
This is exactly what I need to work on.

Cary,

You are absolutely right. However, if one believes as I do, that AMAT will see a post-split price of $150+ in the coming years, why should one risk losing that ride by selling? I have heard many people on this thread over the past year say that AMAT was overvalued at $40, then $50 then $60..... all the way to 108 3/8! My point is, why not take the ride(even though it may be painful) because bumps in the road like we are now experiencing are nearly impossible to foretell.

I have just recently started to try to time the zig-zags of the market, rather unsuccessfully). I have investments in AMAT and others which I will not touch for any reason. If the market takes AMAT to $108, who's to say it won't continue its upward ascent? I also have a portion of my account devoted to ST trading, specifically margining, which I use to (try to) time the market. I have a large position of AMAT margined @ 46 3/8. Just goes to show what my opinions are worth. I sometimes consider myself a contrary indicator<G>

Regards,

Brian

Cary, with the currency in ASIA falling and the Dollar getting stronger...dosen't that make it that much more expensive to buy US semi tools and set up fabs....do you think that will impact purchases by fabs.
