I got turned off by the U.S. Auto makers in the 1970's.

Still holding a 30 year grudge? Honestly US cars got a lot better, largely in response the Japanese competition. Now I think it's pretty damn close with the Japanese having a quality edge at the margin.

I've had US cars most of my life, not because of choice but because the companies I worked for only offered a choice of US cars as company cars. I really never had a 'bad' one, but we only kept them 2 years.

Your post does demonstrate one thing... you got turned off by domestic cars 30 years ago and still hold those same opinions. It would take great cars and a mighty marketing effort to turn guys like you around.
