The ownership society fit nicely into Bush's agenda of creating a perceptibly strong economy at any cost. It was a way to appease the masses and to counter and deflect attention away from his more malicious and selfish agenda of overthrowing Saddam. Bush was and is the most evil, sociopathic, sadistic, incompetent and egotistical president I can find. One should put nothing past him. Had he not been born into wealth, he would probably had been a deranged career criminal facing execution on death row.
