Mish, it's amazing how spot on you have been about deflation and how many of the talking heads still don't get it. I guess deflation is just so rare they can't believe that this time it is different.

Speaking of deflation, and it getting a stronger grip on the economy, I've a friend in Phoenix who's workgroup was given a choice of a 20% cut in wages (ostensibly to be reviewed and possibly restored in 4-5 months) or immediate layoffs. Even with the paycut, she says the company is teetering. Which is how I view this current deflation/reflation battle. We are very close to a tipping point where the nearterm reflation effort may fail and the downward spiral will move a recovery of any sort forward by another year, or several years.
