No, I'm not.

(Because I have no evidence for any such intent.)

All I can say is that --- for whatever reason --- the administration is fighting all attempts to let the public see the details about how this bail-out money is being used by the banks who received it.

The one other thing I'm saying is that --- since the second half of the $700 Billion cannot be handed over until the Executive formally requests it of Congress (and Congress votes to hand it over) I HOPE (& believe) that Congress will include new language into the appropriation which FORCES an accounting for the public's benefit.

The auditors who just reported back to Congress about the lack of visibility about what the money was being spent on just RECOMMENDED such new language... and I believe that the second half of the money WILL NOT be approved WITHOUT such language in the legislation.

How come the article doesn't even mention Bush? Wouldn't they love to blame Bush for keeping secrets?
