It was reported yesterday on NPR that Toyota currently makes a profit of about $100 on every Prius it sells. This contrasts with a profit of $300 on every Corrolla, an older, more fully amortized design with most of the cost cutting fully in place. Toyota expects to eventually make $300 off each Prius as well.

So, do you think the Prius is being sold at a profit?

How would you, Al or myself know? TM claims it is profitable; auto analysts claim it isn't. Who do you think really knows the truth?
