That 35% of one organization, not 35% of all the money that went to support Prop. 8.

I've seen all the commercials here. The Mormon church was never identified as a major contributor. Two that stuck out were the Yes on Prop. 8 campaign (which is where you get that 35% figure) and the Knights of Columbus, which is a Catholic organization. Later on Pastor Rick Warren became another high-profile supporter.

But the vast majority of the Prop. 8 support were grass-root.
