>>I assume your support for Obama stems from his ability to bring people together such as what I mentioned above.<<

No that is actually a ways down the list for me. My support fo Obama is based on several things:

1) His amazing intellect, knowledge and work habits.

2) His philosophy of self actualization and compassion.

3) His programs and strategies for implementing them.

4) His ability to be a warrior, and his existential pragmatism.

5) His ability to bring people together.

He won his first seat playing super duper hardball; and he just plain beat the Clintons.

I see Obama as being a modern day Sun Tzu.

from the wisest person I know, in response to my email to her (it was mostly about stock picks but I asided)

I don't like the choice of Rick Warren at all, but he's not BHO and he doesn't have a vote in Congress, either. I don't think we should make him into something bigger than he is. It's really vital for us to pick our battles in this fight, and I'm willing to wait and see what Obama does. He's got to get the economy on the right track, and he's got to fix health care. If he can get rid of DADT I'll be very happy.

ya know, I dun so much care about DADT. I guess cause marriage doesn't matter much to me. take it all out of state rule. give a certificate. done. but it does sound bad. "defense against bhah blah". oy. be done with it. for once in our 30 years or her being wiser than me, she sounds a tad more radical. :) but the upshot is... give it a chance. my 83 year old life-long repub father said the same thing, and he would die for his queer daughter. so... let it rest, and we will see. or not?

Chinu, you can never deal rationally with the Tom Delays, Newt Gingriches or Dick Cheney's.

They have to be dealt with. Ruthlessly if need be.

Obama knows that and can do that.
