Karen,

I'm glad you were able to snatch your son from the airport. This is the time of year families should be together if they can. Not much fun to do a reprise of "Planes, Trains and Automobiles." My partner's son was able to escape SeaTac yesterday on the afternoon flight. Another partner's son did the same thing the day before. Let's hope we've seen the worst of the bad weather.

Have you ever used the Cell Phone lot Karen? If I'm early, and haven't yet heard from whom ever it is I'm picking up at the airport, I go directly to the Cell Phone lot and wait for a call.

Glad you got out of your neighborhood. You've really got a steep hill there to navigate. I'm thinking even Brutus might have some trouble with it. Did you just get a fast running start and cruise right up? And I'd bet you did more than go to the airport. You must have hit a few stores on your way home too?

I was supposed to have lunch with a good friend today. I don't get to see her much because she works full time outside the home, and has 5 grandkids that really keep her busy. With all of this new snow coming down, and so much that needs doing at home before tomorrow, we decided to chancel the lunch until next week. Don't even know if that is going to be possible. I have a feeling she'll be too busy or tied down with one or another of her grandkids.

Anyway............I need to get some things done around here including making a Banana Cream Pie. We very rarely include desserts in our menu, and since it wouldn't be Christmas without dessert, I decided (for the first time in 30 + yrs of making holiday dessert) to make a dessert that I love.

I guess that is an example of doing something for ones self instead of catering to others and their every desire?

And darn it all............I'm going to feel good about eating that pie, even though it really will blow my (wheat, corn and sugar free) diet.

I look at it as giving myself a gift.

I think Santa would smile.

;) M
