Likely, almost everyone you know is Christian. These people aren't trying to shove their religion down your throat. Those who do are few and far between.Prayer in school, ten commandments in places of government, creation in school curricula, God on coins, and so on Most of the people in this country are religious. I'm generally not. Why should it bother me for these people to practice their religion in the ways they choose? Why should it bother me for them to have Christmas trees inside government offices or Ten Commandments posted outside or to celebrate Christmas in the schools? These bans are a result of childish, silly, insecure individuals. The Founding Fathers were almost all religious people, and they had very clear intentions with respect to the level of religious involvement in our government. None would have objected to these fringe representations of religion. As to the teaching of creationism, why would you NOT teach it? There are vast numbers of people in this country for whom creationism, in some form or another, is THEIR answer. Nobody is trying to argue that other concepts need not apply -- but why should religious people have concepts they disagree with shoved down THEIR throats? This is all about reasonableness. Your remarks indicate a lack of reasonableness. It is harmless having "In God We Trust", a mere catch-phrase, emblazened on our coins. Totally harmless. So, get over it. If you don't trust in God, that's your call -- nobody is forcing your hand here. Just try to be reasonable. I know that's asking a lot for an absolute far left extremist such as you are. But it doesn't seem too much to task of most Americans. Let's just try to be reasonable.
