I believe I was abundantly clear that I believed the argument had been made, by virtue of that election, for the existence of the electoral college.

I would feel the same way were Obama to have won in the EC only, or any future presidential candidate.

I believe the election of 2000 proved the Founding Fathers right in their choice of the Electoral College over popular vote, even if the rationale was somewhat different than what we would have today.
