He likes to pretend that management is paid hourly and only puts in 40 hour weeks. Unlike the real world where when salaried people have to travel, well, they have to travel. Even on weekends. And there is no additional pay for more than 40 hours.


"Pretend" like when kids have their fantasy playmates? That makes sense.

believe me I do agree with you that in the current situation the management should go. They by definition carry the ultimate responsibility for this situation and how it could ever come to that. Unions or not, without their consensus the AWU would never have come to hold the big 3 hostages as they do now.
That said, the problem may well be that no competent managers could be found to replace them at this time. No skilled person would ever risk his reputation by sticking his head into this wasp nest. Chapter 11 remains the only and ultimate avenue out of this mess and IMO is inevitable, sooner or later.
