Toyota is subject to the same fleet mileage standards the US automakers are. They make the Prius to enable the fleet meet CAFE standards. And lose money on each Prius....

Was that so hard to figure out?

Sure, Dave. Toyota has produced a car for TEN YEARS that they consistently lose money on every one of. Why don't I believe this?

And yet, the company remains very profitable.
