I bet if all of the needles fell off you'd see lots of little nests. Maybe some big ones too. Squirrels build nests in our trees..........they're huge.

I often look up when I'm driving or riding in a car in the winter. You'd be surprised how many nests are up in the deciduous trees.

Neighbor has 5 acres of pines that the hummers nest in. In August you can see a dozen a minute.

When I was 14 I saw a hummer nest in a hedge. Not much bigger than a shot glass and had two eggs. Must have made an impression to remember 40 years later.
