Give any of us the opportunity to qualify for, say... $50 million or so in annual 'bonuses' if we can goose the short-term operating results higher and higher, and then just SIT BACK and see if the 'average guy' doesn't make EXACTLY the same petal-to-the-metal leverage-to-the-sky choices as the big companies' CURRENT leadership! Some of the wisest advice ever written is: "Follow the money."
