wow, just wow!

what an amazing recollection!

how fortunate are you:

Anyway, everybody searched for an hour trying to find those keys and guess who found them? Yes, that would be me. When I brought the keys to him he smiled said "You are my hero." Well, I may have only been eight but I'm sure I must have swooned. Even at that tender age I knew that was the kind of man I hoped to marry!

thank you so much for writing about your experience with clark gable.....much sadness about the 'marilyn is going to kill me' (filming misfits)....i had read the stories about how unreliable she was and filming was arduous (the heat was brutal from what i had read).....i think his statement about her killing him might've had something to do with the real life drama she was acting out as the filming was ongoing....(just a hunch....dealing with another person's drama day in and out is 'infectious' and in a very bad way)...

at any rate, i had read that he insisted on doing all of his own stunts (including the 'dragging scene at 30 mph')... just crazy, imo.....the combination of the psycho-drama swirling around him and the physical challenge he subjected himself to was just too much...

sadness

anyway thanks again for posting that link...oh and the memory of firestix and milk duds....lol! i loved firestix as a kid..

here's a link to a documentary on the making of misfits for anyone who is interested:
