It does work for autos for me. I have advocated a gov't-funded prepack BK for GM and Chrysler all along. Or sell them off piecemeal to the foreign automakers who want to produce in the US and know how to do it better. Scrap the old labor contracts, keep the jobs that make economic sense and go from there.

Your solution for the autos is changing somewhat?

The auto companies need to be put through a gov't-financed and guaranteed pre-pack bankruptcy along the lines of the Corker bill. Keep the businesses going but restructure them to be viable long-term. Appoint a car czar and give taxpayers a bunch of pfd stock as an investment in the future.
