I'm well aware that the (D)'s have to take SOME of the blame for the clusterfuck. My WAG is about 30%.

Bush had an (R) congress for six years that would rubberstamp anything he proposed in exchange for him vetoing absolutely NO pork. Legislation does nothing when the watchdogs and regulators supposed to ENFORCE the legislation have been ordered to look the other way by their bosses, the "get government off the back of business" Bush administration.

It would seem America agrees with me.

Main problem of the bubble wasnt legislation but enforcement!

Watch dogs have been sleeping at the wheel and if they didnt sleep they got fired for their investigation by Bush. That was a top down corruption programm with everybody getting rich (or trýing) and the paying postponed until now. It was good for nearly all as long as it lasted and everbody was looking in an other direction. But thats what i expect from good government intervention when things get out of hand.

Same with the CDS or leverage of IBs, they have been allowed to leverage far more but the regulation was increased, but regrettably only by law and not in real.
