I grew up just north of lincoln park. Just south of lincoln park is (near the ferry dock) is a little area where the old iga grocery store used to be. It's now the Endolyne Restaurant (the name means the end of the line) which is where the old street car used to turn around or in the 60's and 70's where the bus line used to end. There is a bakery there and it is still there. They have the best doughnuts. The real thing! It's called The Original Bakery. I may have known your wife, or at least passed her at Coleman Pool in the summers a time or two! Lol. (Gatewood, Madison, West Seattle H.S). Some kids went to Fauntleroy, Denny, Sealth). Show your wife this site.
