I don't think speed is necessarily an issue, if you can scale. I would cite previous postings on new storage records, all done this year and all done using SCSI interfaces on RAID or tape drives. If your access time is slower, you might be able to compensate by scaling to a larger extent than SCSI can until somebody develops a faster interface. I need to find out more about NFR.

The MacWeek article I posted states TeraStor will be building FC versions of the drives

techstocks.com

I just checked TeraStor's employment opportunities page but no references to FC.
