SGS-Thomson plans $2 bln share issue - FT
LONDON, Oct 23 (Reuters) - Franco-Italian semi-conductor maker SGS-Thomson Microelectronics NV (STM) is working on a new two billion dollar share issue, the Financial Times reported on Thursday.

The issue would represent about 17.4 percent of the group's current market value.

The newspaper said U.S. investment bank Morgan Stanley was understood to be the issue's global co-ordinator.

The other banks involved were Salomon Brothers, Deutsche Morgan Grenfell and Lehman Brothers, the newspaper said.

None of the banks were prepared to comment, it added.
