In a small way, we are all a community and must care for someone other than ourselves and our families.

Yes. As wrong headed as the Evil One was in her book It Takes a Village, the concept has some level of validity. It does not take a village to raise families, but the assistance we freely offer to our neighbors does make the community stronger.

The largest difference is that conservatives raise our children to understand that they should help others for the good feelings it gives them while liberals want to force everyone to comply out of guilt or fear of punishment.
