It has to do with newslettercheat (and others) saying that brinker said the "ONLY GOs he would own" are those backed by U.S. treasuries.

Brinker said no such thing. He said the only GOs he actually did own were those kind. And I think he was referring only and specifically to California GOs.

He never said they were the only ones he WOULD own.

And that's not quibbling. There is a BIG difference between what newslettercheat said (and you apparently agreed with, or at least did not correct) and what Brinker actually did say.
