We have Palestinian friends who claim they had to sleep on the side of their house opposite the main road when they were growing up............Israeli soldiers patrolled the road and shot indiscriminately into the building on the roadside. Many Americans would not have believed you until they saw what happened to Lebanon two summers ago. I had a Palestinian professor who told us of similar horror stories to the ones you point out. And then I had expat Israeli friends in LA who had their own horror stories....most of which were not favorable to Israel. At this point, I would like the US to step away from this mess. Its not going to end well and there is little we will gain by trying to negotiate between the two parties.
