True. Also, without the company matching, a ROTH is a much better option where you might put the money in CDs or get taken to the cleaners by annuity salespeople taking advantage of investors chasing yield... Read "Beware of Annuities." The bottoming of the stock market and huge decline may already reflect this lowered buying as many with IRAs probably stopped buying stocks that kept going down.
