I don't know where you acquired the knowledge that "consumer goods" do well in a recession where consumers are hunkering down and reigning in spending, but I'd find another book.

'Consumer staples' do well in a recession. Things you cannot do without like food.

JF explained it......consumer goods and their stocks usually rally during recessions. As for SZK, its been in a downtrend for the past two months:
