Because of Bush incompetence, the US soon may enter the Euro mindset of peace at any price.

You are very naive. While the voters were sucked in by Obama's rhetoric, the kind of fundamental change that would be required for your post to come true doesn't happen overnight.

This idea that the last 7 years without another terrorist attack is just dumb luck is absolute stupidity.

Unlike the way the Left after Bush was elected, the Right are hoping for a successful Obama presidency. I am, and everyone I know is, and I think most conservatives think it is more important than politics (this is in contrast to the Left's desire to see Bush fail in 2000).

But should another terrorist attack come on Obama's watch, not only will America be demanding someone's head (and it may not be bin Laden's), but just how competent Bush really was will be reflected upon.

There is one thing that cannot taken away from Bush (although liberals on MTP were trying like hell last Sunday) and that is the fact that he kept the country safe for 7 years. I only hope Obama can continue doing what Bush was.

The west doesnt have the stomach to fight necessary wars with the exception of the US and Israel.

What the West doesn't have a stomach for is fighting other people's wars.......and that's the way it should be.

Because of Bush incompetence, the US soon may enter the Euro mindset of peace at any price.

I hope so.

Israelis have no choice but to keep on defending themselves.

Israel can do what it has to do. What you can't accept is that we should not be a part of that war.

I guess Ted that if folks were lobbing rockets at your house, you would meet them with prayer or just move back to the place where your ancestors came from.

No, I would defend my house, my country.....not someone else's house, someone else's country.

Ooops Jews have already been there, done that.

Let's not confuse which country you are citizen of, Michael. You're starting to sound like Lieberman.

The poll numbers you post are very striking. Israel's situation may ultimatley be hopeless. Who knows. But make no mistake, the Israelis will not die as lambs as Jews once did. If they go down they go down as lions.

Fine. That's their choice.

Since this attack on Gaza has brought out all the western pacifists and anti-semitic snakes already, i would maintain that Israel has nothing to lose anymore. To achieve their objective they need to take out Hamas and return power to Fatah in Gaza. I am not an expert on the military situation on the ground buy i expect Hamas will not be able to put up the fight hizbollah did.

I don't expect it will work but then I don't rule Israel.

Perhaps the israelis are prodding hizbolla here either to get them to launch rockets or look like a paper tiger on the sidelines.. Maybe Israel is seeking this two front war. Maybe they have learned from 06. Dont know. Perhaps since 300 deaths causes the west to go into a tizzy, israel has learned that the numbers of casualties dont matter. Maybe they seek to take care of this problem once and for all. I am not sure they can succeed at this without the help of moderate arab sunni states. Maybe egypt takes over gaza post hamas? Maybe syria gets golan back and stabs iran in the back. Maybe this is a pretext for an attack on iran nukes by israel and US??/
Just some thoughts here. I am not calling for any of it. Just brainstorming.

You know what, Michael, I don't care what they do to each other. You see the Israelis as the good guys.......I see them as better than Hamas but not good guys. And I think more and more Americans are seeing it that way.

PS India and Pakistan could be fighting in a week. That should divert some attention away from mideast. I sense something larger is happening here.

Actually, Pakistan, who can't afford another war, is asking India to be reasonable and pull its troops from the border. I think India will end up complying.
