Beats losing but it wears on our people and iran sits out there now and no one really wants to confront the looming danger of iran with nukes. And perhaps we cant with our stretched out military.

Iran is a looming problem, no doubt. But one that Bush or any other president probably couldn't have addressed during this time.

Most importantly, and contrary to popular belief, Iran has been weakened during the last four years, not strengthened. The fact that they now have a democracy next door where people are more free than in their own country is a huge Bush success and one the American people, largely, do not comprehend. Iran was so weak they could not stop the SOFA, and the Iraqi forces are going to be able to protect their country before we leave (unless Obama does something stupid and abides by his campaign promise to precipitously remove American forces, which I don't think he'll do).

The rest of the world has decided they will allow Iran to have nukes. Other than Israel. And it is an embarrassment to the US, but Israel may just have to unilaterally take out Iran's nuclear facilities, which many believe they can do. Sadly, I don't believe Obama will have either the will or the stomach to participate in it.
