Jatropha is interesting... unlike corn or sugar cane it grows in desert/scrubland types of areas.

(I'm not a fan of pushing food crops off of arable lands so as to grow fuels....)

Jatropha also produces really a HUGE amount of oil for it's body mass... what was it? Something like 30% of the weight is oil?

Genetic engineering might be able to improve on the plant as well (and, since it has no food use, shouldn't be problems there).
