10% is certainly close enough, and in fact the point on that chart may not have been the low for the year 1937, but only the year-end total.

But on to more important things. When I was having dinner at my sister's house last night, two of her guests were a gay couple, smart, nice older guys, but in fact a little effeminate at times. Over on a counter in the dining room, next to a house plant, there was a small bag of plant fertilizer that had a label with very large letters that said PANSY BOOSTER. I quietly suggested to my sister that she put it away, which she did. My wife thinks my suggestion was not necessary. I am thinking of giving my sister a copy of Joseph Conrad's short novel "The Nigger of the Narcissus" to put out on some other social occasion..

I was quoting a guy on "Morning Joe." He was obviously wrong or deceptive, though the 13% in 1937 was still nearly 50% better than where Hoover had left it.
