Tejek, posted this. What a great post!!!

I have to tell you......its just like a replay of LA in the mid 90s after the riots. The Republicans became very open about their distaste for minorities. A woman who had been a Kappa where I went to school and supposedly a friend came to see me at my office. As we're walking through the office, she openly discussed her distaste for people of color. I was stunned....first because she was so racist and secondly, because she seem to be oblivious to the people in the office who were of all ethnicities. When we got to lunch, she said I had to move to Ventura where the white people lived. Did I mention she was a card carrying Republican?

Trying to get the GOP into the 21st century is presenting a serious challenge.

the backwardness was always there, but Obama being black has brought this to the surface and combining this with the unfortunate choice of Palin really limits the GOP to a bunch of hillbilly ignorant voters from appalachia. They are digging their own grave seriously but the only people who can see it are the New Yorkers and various educated city folk who consider themselves to be GOP like David Brooks. Most of the country is deeply offended by terms like "Halfrican", and the coastal tech centers where a lot of the young people work are totally multicultural. You almost have to feel sorry for the GOP and be embarrassed for them.

What was the end result of that dead woman in Scarborough's office? I mean besides her being dead.
