Merced Story: regarding the DEC-Intel Technology agreement and what it means to Intel looking Out.

abcnews.com

And Story on Intel moving its 120 Mhz Pentium Chip into handheld devices. Sounds like a great way to expand Pentium functionality. Hey, if you can't use it in a desktop, move it to a handheld. Compare a 120 Mhz Pentium to 1 1MB Palm Pilot from USR.

Intel now down in trade: Nasdaq down 41 at 1:45 pm and Intel, Dell, Msft and the rest all caught in Asian bear hug. Would not buy Intel here more downside ahead but in the meantime I like to examine and reexamine why investing in Intel is still a good idea.

To All,

The Worth article on INTC has a very intersting section on the Crossover points, the point in time in which the newest generation chip sales surpases those of the preceeding generations. For those of you who have the issue, its on page 106. To paraphrase, the last three crossover points were in Jan 1995, Jan 1996 and Midway through 97 as we went to 486, Pentium and Pentium with MMX respectively... After each of these points, the stock went up immensely, from about 21 to 30, from 30 to about 67 and then from 72 to about 90 over short periods of time (3 monnths, 9 months and 6 months respectively).... The next crossover point will be when the PII surpases the MMX line, sometime in the first quarter of 1998 according to the article...

Let hope history repeats itself.

Darin
