The way it's being reported, along with the way Chicago-style politics is being accepted as normal, it seems the only true "crime" is that Blagojevich was stupid and got caught.

It takes on added significance because it was the Senate seat of Obama.

"Not THAT bad," you say? Just punish those who get caught, then treat the rest of it as "business as usual"? I wonder what would happen to NYC if Bloomberg was caught doing a fraction of this kind of stuff ...
