Why would any Jew WANT to live in Israel? When they can pick any other country on Earth and live a safer and more prosperous life? Why do YOU continue to live in a country which you hate and condemn at every chance? Why don't YOU find a good communist dictatorship where you'd be more comfortable? Or even a terrorist haven like Iran? The answer, of course, is that you choose to live here and don't have to explain the convoluted rationale that puts you living in a region you hate so much.

I worked with a lady that emigrated to Israel as an idealistic teenager, lived on a kibbutz, left and is NEVER going back. Because its the only Jewish state in the world? For many Jews who were persecuted in their home countries, its a great alternative. For American Jews, not so much.
