Nope......the end days are not upon us yet. ;-)

We all know how this works. If you've lived through even one or two presidential elections, you've seen it in action. Here it is in outline form:

1. Leading up to the election, the Democrats talk the economy down. "It's the economy, stupid".

2. After hearing this talk for months on end, consumers actually start to believe the economy sucks, panic, and stop buying.

3. The result of (2) is a real recession.

4. If a Democrat is elected, the negativity stops and the economy rises, magically, mystically, within months.

5. If a Republican is elected, he has to actually DO THINGS to turn the economy around -- as in GWB's and Reagan's case, tax cuts.

So, we can fully expect the economy to start turning around as soon as the Obama takes office -- at which point they'll stop talking the economy down and start claiming to see signs of an economic upturn.

Works every time.
