Yes, I agree.

There seems to be more truth then un-truth to that 'Palin-like' analogy.

Both seem/seemed over their heads and incurious about what was actually going on, (in Iraq, in the rest of the Middle East, with the federal deficits, with the total economy, with New Orleans, with 'my Pet Goat', etc.)

Not to say that both/either do not have sufficient political talent and sufficient native 'smarts' to forge ahead and make progress through their governance - they both do - but you have to actually WANT to consider alternative viewpoints that may not be in agreement with your own preconceptions... you have to WORK to be pragmatic, if you are to be effective.
