Re: "Maternity leave is dropping out? What century do you live in?"

No, dropping out is 'dropping out'.

(She withdrew from her HS. Governor's Press folks say she is not going back to that HS --- that she will ultimately 'finish through a correspondence course'.)

If she were on 'maternity leave' (assuming for the purposes of this argument that her HS even *has* such a program - and you have not shown that they do...<g>) the statement from the Governor's people that she is 'not returning' to the HS would pretty clearly seem to shoot down your idea of a 'maternity leave'. :-)

(Also, for what it's worth... the expected husband has no announced plans to return to HS either... although the same Press people at the Governor's office say that he 'will finish HS, but is working right now', although they do not specify how he will finish.)

So... I suppose I should ask you now Bill... 'what politically correct century do you live in?' where plain-and-simple dropping out is no longer allowed to even be called 'dropping out'? :-)
