Which I guess means I win. < in this market, he who loses the least wins. > In US$, not down much. In gold, about even though I can't recall just when it was that gold was $1000 an ounce. I don't bother keeping close watch on the score because everything moves so fast and far and the "end of year" way of looking at things isn't of much interest to me. How I am going on 17 February and 16 July is as interesting and I don't recall my position on those dates either. Digital gold, US$ etc is an interesting activity - that's the trend we should expect more of. Qi will be in competition with them, or simply part of their portfolio. There are no doubt plenty of "currencies" based on digital gold touting for business [I haven't bothered checking any though there was one in Canada I took a look at]. If I'm going to dabble in gold, silver, platinum, I'm inclined to go physical. As TJ knows, there is something to the tactile side of life, using bars as weights, enjoying the interaction of stardust and gravity has some merit. One can directly experience the five forces of the apocalypse, namely gravity, strong and weak forces, electromagnetic forces and consciousness, all in one neat little bundle. The gold is made from worn out stars as an end state of fusion reactions, starting from the Big Bang, recycled into the crust of Earth and extracted by consciousness for consideration of the meaning of life, the universe and everything. Gravity, pulls constantly on it, trying to return it from whence it came, but the strong and weak forces and electromagnetic forces, wielded by consciousness of the pondering weight lifter, keep it away from that dark interregnum beyond the event horizon deep in black holedom. TJ will wet himself if he sees me thinking along these lines, just as he was like a passionate pig even as he puked up his once in a year beluga and Bollinger brunch. Mqurice
