Ashley,

As long as the hose isn't sealed at either end, the pressure has no effect. Think of it this way, if I dropped a straw into the water at a very deep place, wouldn't it just sink to the bottom with the water inside equaling the pressure outside. On the other had, if I capped the straw at both ends and it sank, it would be crushed as the air inside compressed to the same pressure as the water outside.

There would be only the slightest differential in pressure as the heavier nutricient laden sea water inside the hose would have slightly greater pressure as it approached the surface.
