Israel exists in the WW2 mindset but the world has moved on. Guys like ted say surrender to terrorists everywhere and anywhere rather than use necessary force against them. Those folks are back to the pre-ww2 pacifism which gave us appeasement which ted thought is good policy in an earlier post. Key is participation by arab states, particularly egypt. Someone has to step up. I think bob is right about one thing--when this over for it to be deemed as successful, hamas needs to be out of power. American Arab voices are beginning to be heard supporting just this. I dont think gazans are culpable because they voted for hamas against corrupt PA. Their hatred for Israel not withstanding, it doesnt take a rocket scientist (pardon the pun) to realize that hamas has brought this all on Gaza. They are waiting to have their moment in the sun when israel invades but that invasion will not occur and the hizbolla type victory they crave will not be forthcoming.
