While I'll admit that Arizona is a much improved team from years past, they are still a far cry from a legitimate playoff team. The only reason they made the playoffs is that they had 2 games each against San Francisco, Seattle and St. Louis. Had the Cardinals played in any other conference, they'd be watching the playoffs on television like everyone else.

That said, Atlanta is not that much better than the Cardinals. Atlanta also puffed up its record by virtue of playing weaker teams, However, the Falcons didn't have as many weak teams on their schedule as Arizona did. And the Falcons also beat some fairly decent teams as well. Arizona did not. Arizona's three other wins came against Miami (early in the season), Buffalo and Dallas(???) who was playing with injuries. Speaking of Miami, there's yet another team that shouldn't be in the playoffs. I wouldn't at all be surprised if the Ravens shut them out in Miami.

The Cardinals rank dead last of all 32 teams in the running game. Their defense is ranked something like 28th. The only bright spot is the passing game, where they're ranked 2nd.

In fact, the only things the Cardinals have going for them is that they're playing at home; and maybe, just maybe, the Falcons might let them hang around long enough in a close game to the point where someone, somewhere makes a lucky touchdown to give the Cardinals a win.

EK!!!
