I find it a bit silly for Obama to say he doesn't want Canada's "dirty oil"?
I hate that media phrase - so misleading.

Anyway, my point is that oil is oil.
If the US takes only oil from conventionally drilled wells (clean oil? LMAO!), that simply means that Canada sells the remaining upgraded heavy oil (very high quality oil, I might add) to its other customers.

There is a finite amount of oil available for sale per day (2.5MM bbls?) in Canada, both internally and for export.
It is all sold every day.
Demanding that you only get the "clean" stuff is pure political semantics.

Canada should just put all of our oil in a big vat and give it a stir before shipping.
Hey Obama, you want our "blended" oil or not?"

IMHO, "dirty oil" is simply about votes.
Does nobody else see this?
