The luge was billed as "tourist luge", and covered maybe the bottom 1/3 of the Olympic run. Did it on a dare from inlaws and pretended to enjoy it. Asked if anyone would go down with me a second time but no takers - it really was cold. If Westjet didn't have daily nonstops to Mexico, I'm sure 20% of high-end Calgary would move to BC.

If the US wants to buy Canadian oil, how can Canada sell to anybody else if NAFTA is taken literally ? I seriously wonder if western Canada can survive if the US says it's strategic interests are threatened. Now we also have the Artic sea-rush in progress, with the US claiming northern Canada itself doesn't exist. Canada will have to back its claim with some show of strength. Perhaps this is why the doors are open in Canada to warm bodies from everywhere. Canadian culture is changing too, with the FOTB Vietnamese claiming NE Calgary as homeboy turf. Guns everywhere - sounds more and more like the states. I predict that when Tim Horton's folds, Canada as a nation will also fold.
