That's not true. I've already posted on these thread saying that I like Pickens' plan. It's smart. Of course, he hypes it because he's trying to make money, but it's a good idea.

I've also publicly posted that drilling everywhere needs to be part of the plan. I want energy independence first and foremost. Everything else is secondary to me.

However, I do believe that over the longer term 20-50 years, we are going to have to move to renewables. Economics will demand it when our traditional fossil fuels become too expensive due to a combination of scarcity of oil, as well as improved renewables technology allowing alternatives to reach and surpass coal-fired electricity sources.
