I'm finding all the rosy buy recommendations about as believable as I did all the assurances that the worst credit problems were past after the Countrywide meltdown in 2007.

I do believe there may be a tradable spike upwards this week, but I do not believe current conditions are favorable for holding any long positions taken. There's plenty more recession left to play out. My most optimistic assessment would be for stocks to become attractive in late 2009.
