1st piece of analysis. the answer to the question i've been asking since early september back when all the expectations were that Corel was finally cleaning up its accounting act, setting the stage for future great results, etc. etc. etc and so forth.

HaHa fat chance.

Q3 would have been even worse except for this:

Productivity software revenues decreased in the third quarter of fiscal 1997, as compared to the third quarter of fiscal 1996, primarily due to reduced unit volumes of retail versions of Corel WordPerfect Suite 8 and Corel WordPerfect Suite 7, partially offset by the introduction of Corel WordPerfect Suite 8 Professional and Corel WordPerfect Suite 7 for Windows 3.x in the third quarter of fiscal 1997 and increasing corporate licensing revenues.

The rest of the analysis I'll just skip, thank you.

It's the same old Corel. Sorry 'bout that.
