To: pogohere who wrote (44757 ) 1/17/2009 9:47:28 PM From: TobagoJack Read Replies (3) | Respond to of 217617 hello pogohere, i just finished reading the book "The Money And The Finances Of The French Revolution Of 1789: Assignats And Mandats, A True History" by Stephen Dillaye, and found it to be a spinning apologist tale by a communistic empire team usa bad fiction writer of the wastrel sort. anyone can be excused to spin tales, but no one is to be forgiven to write drivel starting out so ...... he (andrew dickson white) undertakes to convince the American people that because Assignats failed and became worthless, the currency known as Greenbacks and National Bank notes, based upon the credit, resources and honor of the United States, must also fail and become worthless ... the effort of his pamphlet (Fiat Money Inflation in France) is to overthrow our paper currency; to destroy confidence in our stability as a nation, and our honesty as a people ... that as they (the French) repudiated the obligations they created, the government of the United States must repudiate the obligations it has created or may hereafter create i feel soiled dirty to have read the book, and the stench is almost chemical, can spontaneously combust. ewwwww ;0/ as the wastrel dillaye wrote his tale in 1877, i suppose he can be excused for having sounded exactly as the wastrels described in the right honorable mr white's book, almost word for word, and he sounded as george bush and cb ilaine could easily sound today. but, however, there is no excuse, now, with perfect 20/20 hindsight benefit, to believe that dillaye's book is of a higher merit or is even remotely comparable to "fiat money inflation" in prescience. dillaye-like wastrels are leading us to doomsville as we post. you, for your sake, must appreciate andrew dickson white's book as the truth for all times, and dillaye's as eternal spin of the wastrel sort. btw, white established the great learning institution that is cornell on the east coast, and his followers instigated the great teaching center that is stanford on the west coast. pray tell and do tell, what did the wastrel spinmeister dillaye ever do? nothing. the two authors are not even of the same league, league, or for any practical matter, the same planet, and so there is little point in comparing them. cheers, tj
